Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder OCD
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is generally characterised by obsessive thoughts and compulsive actions that include cleaning, checking, counting or hoarding. It is a potentially debilitating condition that can persist throughout a person’s entire life. The person suffering from OCD becomes trapped in a pattern of repetitive thoughts and behaviours that are not only senseless but also extremely stressful and exceedingly difficult to overcome. OCD occurs in a spectrum from mild to severe. However, in severe cases where the person left untreated, OCD can destroy a person’s capacity to function at work, at school, or even in the home.
